Our Number Talks for Algebra Flip Book gives Algebra teachers the tools to begin using Number Talks in their own classroom. The prompts are organized by typical Algebra units and will open up discussions that will reveal students’ prior knowledge, dive into student thinking, uncover misconceptions and reinforce new understandings. Each page includes the prompt, talk tips for the teacher, Backup/Extension Problems, Sample answers and a place for personal teacher notes. The cover page includes the 1, 2, 3… on how to do a Number Talk as well as a list of helpful teacher prompts to encourage mathematical discourse in the classroom.
